Proxy Configuration Guide
Learn how to configure subscription links, proxy groups, rules, DNS, system proxy and TUN mode for Shadowrocket-compatible clients and Clash Verge Rev.
Configuration workflow
- Get a valid subscription URL from your VPN node provider.
- Import the subscription into your app.
- Update the profile and verify nodes appear.
- Select a proxy mode: Rule, Global, or Direct.
- Run latency test and select a stable node.
Rule Mode
Recommended for daily use. Domestic traffic can go direct while selected traffic uses proxy nodes.
Global Mode
All traffic uses the selected proxy node. Useful for testing but may slow local services.
Direct Mode
Proxy is bypassed. Use it to troubleshoot network or subscription issues.
Subscription URL best practices
- Do not share your subscription URL publicly.
- Refresh subscription after provider updates nodes.
- Keep one backup profile in case a config update fails.
- Use provider-recommended client options when available.
DNS and leak prevention
Use built-in DNS settings when the client supports them. If DNS leaks occur, enable secure DNS or TUN mode and test again.
- Prefer encrypted DNS from trusted providers.
- Use rule-based DNS when available.
- Retest after changing regions or profiles.
Need reliable nodes?
A good configuration depends on stable nodes. Get subscription nodes and import them into Shadowrocket or Clash Verge Rev.
